47-year-old manager leading the race to become new Nottingham Forest boss

gus poyetmnsSunderland fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are wishing their former boss the best of luck as he has been heavily linked with a Championship side.

According to the bookmakers odds via the Nottingham Post, Gus Poyet is the favourite to become the next manager of Nottingham Forest.

The former Black Cats boss is 4/7 to be Dougie Freedman’s replacement after he was sacked in March.

This wouldn’t be Poyet’s first job since departing the Stadium of Light after he joined AEK Athens, but his time there is already over and he is now favourite to take the hot seat at The City Ground.

Poyet isn’t the first choice though for Forrest fans in the Tavern, as they calling for the club to pick the second favourite for the job, Martin O’Neill after he played for them during the incredible Brian Clough era.

But Poyet knows the Football League well after working at both Leeds United and most recently being the manager of Brighton and Hove Albion.

Sunderland fans. Would you back Gus Poyet to be successful at Nottingham Forrest? Let us know your thoughts below!
