It was shaping up to be another summer of frustration for Arsenal supporters, who have seen Bacary Sagna join Manchester City, and Chelsea complete the signing of former captain Cesc Fabregas.

But now it appears that Arsenal have finally moved to bring in a signing of their own, and the supporters hope there is more to follow.

Arsene Wenger has huge financial backing this summer, with the club having signed a new kit sponsorship deal with Puma.

The Frenchman is under pressure to add players to the squad that will help Arsenal mount a sustained challenge for both the Premier League and Champions League.

Despite being the team that sat on top of the Premier League for more days than any other over the course of last season, the Gunners somewhat predictably dropped off the pace as injuries took their toll between February and March.

The FA Cup success appears to have brought Wenger a bit more time, but another fourth-placed finish next season will not be deemed good enough.
