Liverpool have hardly made the ideal start to the 2014/15 season, with yesterday’s 3-1 defeat to West Ham United at Upton Park a new low.
Brendan Rodgers’ side seem to be having the same problems as last season, with the added difficulty of integrating nine new summer signings into the first team squad.
The defence remains the prime concern, with just one clean sheet in their opening six matches in all competitions and three defeats from their first five Premier League matches.
Rodgers admitted it will take time for his new signings to settle in, having overseen the busiest summer transfer window in the Merseyside club’s history.
With that in mind, January may be a quiet month for the Reds – although with Jon Flanagan, Adam Lallana, Glen Johnson, Joe Allen, Emre Can, Martin Skrtel and most crucially Daniel Sturridge having all suffered injuries already this season, some more strengthening may be necessary.
And if things don’t improve quickly, Rodgers is aware he will come under pressure to add more quality when the winter window opens.
With that in mind, we have identified five Bundesliga stars that Liverpool should have a look at should they need to.
