An awful weekend for Chelsea supporters has just got worse in the Football Transfer Tavern, with more transfer whispers suggesting Paris Saint-Germain are ready to offer big money for Eden Hazard this summer.
Chelsea’s Premier League hopes took a major blow on Saturday, when Jose Mourinho’s unbeaten home record at Stamford Bridge was ended by bottom of the table Sunderland.
Jose Mourinho’s post match comments were also a low point, with ‘the Special One’ only embarrassing himself and the club with comments relating to referee Mike Dean.
Liverpool’s win at Norwich City on Sunday sent them five points clear of the Blues, who travel to Anfield next Sunday knowing they need all three points to have any chance of securing the title.
That means that this weeks Champions League semi final with Atletico Madrid takes on added significance, with Chelsea perhaps needing a remarkable Champions League victory to ensure Jose Mourinho’s first season since his return does not end without silverware.
If that does prove to be the case, you wonder whether Hazard – who has already referred to Chelsea as a place to ‘develop’ – may be tempted by the big money offered by PSG.
Before Chelsea fans start getting angry and upset, we know it’s a long shot.
But it doesn’t hurt to plan ahead – as Mourinho has discovered this season following his failure to land a striker this summer.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
