A feature of Brendan Rodgers’ tenure at Liverpool so far has been his faith in young players.
This was evident once more during the summer transfer window, with the Liverpool boss thinking about the future just as much as the present in respect of his transfer dealings.
Besides the 32-year-old Kolo Toure, no player signed permanently in the summer was over the age of 26.
Twenty-year-old Luis Alberto was joined by 20-year-old Tiago Ilori, 23-year-old Mamadou Sakho and 22-year-old Victor Moses on deadline day.
Meanhwhile Iago Aspas and Simon Mignolet have plenty of years ahead of them, at the ages of 26 and 25 respectively.
The likes of Philippe Coutinho, Daniel Sturridge, Jordan Henderson and Joe Allen all remain in their early twenties, whilst Andre Wisdom, Raheem Sterling and Jordon Ibe make up the teenage talent.
Rodgers has spoken many times of building a team capable of challenging for major honours in the future, and he appears to have made a decent start.
But will the Liverpool boss look to add further young talent in January? Here we have identified 5 future stars that could be on the manager’s radar.
