5 January ‘bargain signings’ for Arsenal to snap up

Viktor FischerThe feeling inside the Football Transfer Tavern amongst Arsenal fans, is that Arsene Wenger is going to have to bring in some more talent in January if they are to remain in the title hunt.

Whilst the Gunners have been the early Premier League pace setters, their 1-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford raised a few questions.

Olivier Giroud looked a shadow of the man we have seen terrorise Premier League defences this season, and Wenger’s side appeared to lack ideas as they chased the game.

Mesut Ozil had another off day, and there was no wonder strike from Aaron Ramsey to save the day.

And when Wenger turned to his substitutes bench, the main attacker he could call upon was Nicklas Bendtner.

Whilst Arsenal still have Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski to welcome back, there is no doubt the Frenchman will need to add some new faces in January so the Gunners do not fall by the wayside in the New Year.

Wenger reportedly has money to spend, but he has become notorious down the years for looking for players for the right price.

Here we have identified five possible bargain signings Arsenal could snap up.
