The opening of the January transfer window is edging ever closer, and it’s set to be bigger than ever for Liverpool supporters.
Reds manager Brendan Rodgers appears to have reached the crucial point of his rebuilding stage at Anfield, with the club beginning to look a Premier League force once again.
Rodgers has consistently spoken about laying the foundations during his first season, and improving further in his second season.
All appears to be going to plan at present, with the Reds sitting second in the Premier League table, just two points behind league leaders Arsenal.
Rodgers will be aware that the right additions in January will prove crucial, and could well make the difference to Liverpool breaking into that top four and bringing Champions League football back to Anfield.
The problem lies in the fact the Liverpool boss does not have the same sort of money to spend as his rivals.
Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham are all set to spend big in January, and Rodgers is well aware he does not have the funds to compete.
Therefore the Liverpool boss will have to replicate what he did last year, and hunt for bargains – the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho, whom he signed last year.
Here we have identified 5 bargain signings that could well make the difference for the Reds.
