December was a dramatic month for Tottenham fans to say the least.
The crushing 5-0 home defeat suffered at the hands of Liverpool at White Hart Lane, left the Lilywhites without a manager 10 days before Christmas.
Daniel Levy has acted since, and appointed former midfielder Tim Sherwood on an 18 month contract, and up until now, it has been a case of so far, so good.
Sherwood has managed away wins at St Mary’s, and Old Trafford since taking sole charge, as well as a 3-0 home win over Stoke City and a 1-1 draw with West Brom.
There seems to have been an immediate improvement, with goals not looking so impossible to come by all of a sudden.
The reintroduction of Emmanuel Adebayor has been crucial, with the former Arsenal and Manchester City forward managing three crucial goals over the Christmas period.
Now the transfer window is open, it remains to be seen whether Tottenham will splash the cash once more.
Daniel Levy spent over £100million in the summer to build a squad capable of qualifying for the Champions League – with not all the signings looking so successful.
The question remains as to whether Sherwood will spend to rectify some of the mistakes from the previous era, or work to try and improve what he already has.
No matter what, we think these are five players linked with a January switch to Tottenham that he should stay well clear of.
