Liverpool fans inside the Football Transfer Tavern are busy speculating the possible ins and outs at Anfield this January.
Brendan Rodgers has said he hopes to add new faces to help the Reds launch a serious assault on the top four and perhaps even the title, after an excellent first half of the season.
“Obviously the recruitment team are busy putting things together in terms of the profile of players we need here to improve the team and the squad,” Rodgers said.
“The owners have invested millions upon millions into the team and every window we arrive in looking to improve where we can. This window will be no different.”
Liverpool reportedly have money to spend after Rodgers managed to bring in seven new players in the summer, for a net spend of roughly £15 million.
The money was there for a marquee signing it seemed although the Reds missed out on Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Diego Costa and Willian.
Rodgers will look to add quality of that nature this month if possible, but he knows it will not be easy.
The speculation has already begun, and the Reds have been linked with a host of new players.
Here at the Football Transfer Tavern, we have identified five players we think the Reds should stay well clear of this month.
