It’s been another fantastic weekend for Liverpool supporters inside the Football Transfer Tavern.
The Reds maintained their unlikely title challenge with a win over Cardiff City on Saturday, and bagged another six goals in the process.
The 6-3 win in Wales means the Reds have now managed 82 goals in just 30 Premier League games this season, whilst a win over struggling Sunderland at Anfield tomorrow night would see them close the gap on league leaders Chelsea to just a single point.
Champions League qualification was the target at the start of the season, but even that seemed unlikely after the Reds finished eighth and seventh in the previous two campaigns.
But now it seems Brendan Rodgers can start planning for life back in Europe’s elite competition, as a win tomorrow would see them go 12 points clear of fifth placed Tottenham.
A return to the Champions League for the first time since 2009 would also give Rodgers a major opportunity to invest in the ‘next level’ signings he has been targeting.
But with the summer transfer window getting ever closer and speculation growing by the day, we have taken a look at five signings we cannot see the Reds making in time for next season.
