The international break is a time for Liverpool fans to take a step back and assess the situation at Anfield after a difficult six weeks.
Since the 3-0 win over Tottenham on August 31st, everything that could have gone wrong seems to have done for Brendan Rodgers.
Injuries to Daniel Sturridge, Joe Allen, Emre Can, Martin Skrtel, Jon Flanagan, Mamadou Sakho, Glen Johnson and most recently Dejan Lovren have struck at one point or another.
Whilst there have been desperate defeats to Aston Villa, West Ham United and FC Basel, as well as being denied a Merseyside derby win by a 35-yard rocket by Phil Jagielka of all people.
At least the Reds managed a 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion before the start of the international break with goals from Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson ensuring Liverpool spend the break in the top half of the table.
There is plenty of football left however and plenty of time to improve.
But over the past month, we wonder what Brendan Rodgers would have given to have these five old boys back helping the cause..
