It’s been the perfect start to the season for Liverpool on all fronts, which is a stark contrast to this time last year.
Brendan Rodgers’ first season in charge was blighted by the awful start the club made on and off the pitch.
The opening day of last season saw the Reds beaten 3-0 at West Bromwich Albion, whilst home defeats to Arsenal and Manchester United followed.
Meanwhile off the pitch the club somehow managed to let club record signing Andy Carroll leave for nothing without finding a replacement, whilst Rodgers found himself under fire and compared to none other than Ricky Gervais creation David Brent after some cringeworthy moments in club documentary ‘Being: Liverpool.’
But what a difference a year has made. Rodgers knows a draw away at his former club Swansea City tomorrow evening will be enough to send the Reds back to the top of the table, after three consecutive 1-0 wins – the latest of which came against arch rivals Manchester United.
Rodgers has been awarded the Premier League’s Manager of the Month award, whilst Daniel Sturridge has been awarded the Player of the Month for his three consecutive winners.
Rodgers has also been able to bring in the players he has wanted in the transfer market, with Mamadou Sakho, Tiago Ilori, and Victor Moses joining the five previous additions of the summer on deadline day.
Everything is looking good for Liverpool at present, so there may well be a few lower league clubs looking to take advantage of the Football League loan window which has been open since September 10th while signing some of the Reds’ fringe and youth players.
Whilst Rodgers may have had to rely on young talent last season, this time around he can look to give some of the club’s talented youngsters valuable first team experience.
Here we have identified five Liverpool stars that may be in line for an emergency loan move.
