Liverpool fans inside the Football Transfer Tavern can still hardly believe the improvement shown by their side this season.
Brendan Rodgers’ men head into this weekend’s fixtures just four points behind league leaders Chelsea, and as the current highest scorers in the division with 70 goals to their name so far.
The Reds are on course to break the all-time Premier League goal-scoring record, set by Chelsea during the 2009/10 season.
The Blues had 63 at the same stage of the season, on route to netting 103 by the end of the campaign.
Rodgers will be focused on ensuring his side achieve the primary objective of reaching the top four and ending a five year wait for Champions League football in the process.
But Liverpool have certainly won a lot of friends for the vibrant attacking football they have played this season, as well as the opportunity given to so many young players.
The likes of 23-year-old Jordan Henderson, 20-year-old Jon Flanagan, 21-year-old Philippe Coutinho and 19-year-old Raheem Sterling have shone consistently for the Reds over the course of the season.
And with Rodgers proving himself to be a manager who is not shy of giving youth a chance, we have identified five more Reds starlets who we feel could be set for a first team breakthrough next season.
