The start of the new Premier League season is just seven weeks away, and all eyes will be on Manchester United and their new manager David Moyes.
The Scot has the unenviable task of replacing Sir Alex Ferguson in the Manchester United hotseat, and will instantly be tasked with retaining the Premier League title.
United won the league at a canter last year, but this time around will be different surely. The arrival of Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City and Jose Mourinho at Chelsea will sure make things interesting, whilst Arsene Wenger has been given the funds to get Arsenal back on the title radar.
Tottenham and Liverpool have both been busy this summer already, suggesting they fancy a go at challenging near the top end of the table to boot.
How United get on without Sir Alex will be without doubt the biggest question of the close season, and the former Everton man can only begin to answer it with his work in the transfer market. As expected, several top names have been linked, but it will be just as much about who Moyes decides to get rid of.
His predecssor was never one shy of making big decisions when it came to calling time on a player’s United career, and there are a fair few who it could be argued may well fall foul of a Moyes axe this summer.
Here we have compiled a list of five United players the new manager should perhaps consider ditching before the new season gets underway.
