The discussion has once again turned to centre backs in the Football Transfer Tavern, a conversation that seems to be by far the most frequent amongst fans this month.
It seems top centre backs are highly sought after, with Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United all believed to be in the market.
Chelsea have doubts over the futures of John Terry and David Luiz, whilst Manchester City are looking to bring in a top class partner for Vincent Kompany.
Arsenal are also in the market for a fourth choice centre back, possibly a young talent who can develop to take the place of Thomas Vermaelen, whose future is still up in the air.
And then there is Manchester United, who may find themselves needing to replace two of their best Premier League defenders of all time.
Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic have been one of the best Premier League centre back partnerships of all time, but both could be on their way out of Old Trafford this summer.
Both have just six months to run on their current deals, and neither has opened discussions over an extension.
Moyes has a big task on his hands to replace two Old Trafford legends, and the name most consistently mentioned has been Benfica’s Ezequiel Garay.
But with Benfica reluctant to sell their Argentine defender, we have identified five possible transfer alternatives for Manchester United to consider.
