It has become one of football’s dead certainties over the years, alongside there being six minutes of stoppage time at Old Trafford when United aren’t winning, and Arsene Wenger failing to see a dodgy decision that went in Arsenal’s favour.
Chelsea will always spend big in the transfer market, and this January is set to be no different.
Jose Mourinho was relatively quiet in the summer after making his return, spending the majority of the summer flirting with Wayne Rooney, and in the end being forced to settle for Samuel Eto’o.
Andre Schurrle and Brazilian Willian were the only other major signings, whilst Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole both signed contract extensions.
But it seems Mourinho is not entirely happy with his lot, with his team stuttering to three defeats in all competitions so far this season, and some below par performances as well.
His front three of Demba Ba, Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto’o have all struggled for Premier League goals, despite their pedigree, whilst Mourinho is also keen to add some more steel to his midfield and back four.
A man known for getting what he wants, Mourinho is sure to be busy in January and has already been linked with a host of top players.
Here we have identified the five we feel are most attainable for the Blues in the upcoming transfer window.
