5 ‘panic signings’ made by Liverpool down the years

Christian PoulsonThe conversation has turned to so-called ‘panic signings’ in the Football Transfer Tavern, and Liverpool supporters have found themselves in the firing line.

With things looking good for the Reds and Brendan Rodgers at present, it is time for rival supporters to bring up some mistakes from the past.

The signings made in the summer by Rodgers are looking up to scratch so far – arguably Iago Aspas aside – with the Reds sitting second in the table to Arsenal only on goals scored.

There is talk the Reds may be heading back into the transfer market in January, with the feeling being if Rodgers can add additions of similar quality to those he added last January, the Reds could be in with a real chance of making the top four again.

If Rodgers is to do that, he would do well to avoid looking at this list of panic buys made by various Reds bosses down the years, as there have been some absolute stinkers!
