As we head into the second international break of the season, Liverpool find themselves still sitting pretty.
Second in the league to Arsenal only on goals scored, Brendan Rodgers has overseen five wins out of seven, and of course the return of Luis Suarez.
It is as though the Uruguayan has never been away, scoring three goals since his return, and reforming that almost telepathic understanding with Daniel Sturridge.
Rodgers reckons his front two are up there with the very best in the league, and things are set to get even more exciting for the Reds when Philippe Coutinho returns from injury.
The signs have been there for a while that things are beginning to come together for Rodgers and Liverpool, and the January transfer window will prove a key moment in the club’s rebuilding process.
Last January saw the Reds complete some inspired business by bringing in Sturridge and Coutinho, and reports suggest Rodgers wants to add further faces this time around.
But due to Liverpool’s financial situation, it is looking like being a case of selling before you can buy for Rodgers.
This may prove tricky, with the Liverpool squad hardly the biggest in the Premier League, but it must be done if Rodgers is after quality rather than quantity.
Whether it is a permanent switch, or a loan move in order to free up some wages, we have identified 5 players the Reds may offload in January in order to bring in new faces.
