Tottenham supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern accept that the 2014/15 season is likely to be one of transition, following the summer appointment of Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine has made a decent start to his tenure at White Hart Lane – bar the 3-0 home defeat to Liverpool at the end of August – taking seven points from a possible 12.
Pochettino has been tasked mainly with reviving the fortunes of players who the club invested big money in just over 12 months ago, with Daniel Levy understandably not so keen to release extravagant funds again after the events of last season.
But if Pochettino can get to January whilst keeping Tottenham in the hunt for a top four finish, the Spurs chairman may well be forced to dip into his pocket to help his coach strengthen further.
Pochettino is still after a holding midfielder, another attacking wide player, and a central striker to support Emmanuel Adebayor.
With that in mind, we have identified five players that could end up following most recent signing Benjamin Stambouli to White Hart Lane – one that January transfer window opens.
