Tottenham Hotspur were undoubtedly the winners of the summer transfer window. That is the view that the majority of punters hold here in the Football Transfer Tavern. As our landlord notes, they have not exactly done too badly results wise either.
The club sit tied at the top of the Premier League table, level with arch-rivals Arsenal, and are looking like they mean business as they finally try to make the Champions League proper once more.
They are able to grind out results if needed following their recent display away at Cardiff City and the sheer strength and depth of their squad is something to be admired.
As one of our punters notes, whilst Chelsea and Manchester United are struggling to get goals and indeed points, Andre Villas Boas’ men are looking good.
There is always room for improvement however and there are a couple of positions that AVB wants to strengthen in the January transfer window. Luckily for him, Daniel Levy is once again willing to get out the cheque book and allow him to do so.
With that in mind, we have moved away from the pool table and sat down at the bar to compile a list of five players the club could well move for in January.
