West Ham United supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern all agree that Sam Allardyce is the manager heading into the new Premier League season under the most pressure.
Allardyce endured a difficult 2013/14 campaign, often criticised for his long ball tactics and poor results which saw the Hammers sucked into the relegation dogfight before the turn of the year.
The Hammers boss has been backed by the club’s owners and given money to spend in order to avoid another disappointing campaign.
So far, Allardyce has brought in four players, in Mauro Zarate, Diego Poyet, Aaron Cresswell and Cheikhou Kouyate.
Whilst the East London club’s fifth was announced today, after Ecuador World Cup star Enner Valencia arriving at Upton Park.
Hammers supporters have been encouraged by the transfer activity so far but all agree that more needs to be done if Allardyce is to win them over next season.
The West Ham boss heads into the new campaign knowing he not only needs his new look side to gel quickly and pick up results, but play a more attractive style of football.
With that in mind, we have identified five players who could end up following Enner Valencia to Upton Park before the summer transfer window closes.
