Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are happy with the announcement of the Premier League fixture list, which sees them kick off the 2014/15 campaign with games against newly promoted Burnley and Leicester City.
The Blues have been busy preparing for the new season, having already signed Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona, and with deals for Atletico Madrid duo Diego Costa and Tiago all but done and dusted.
And reports today suggest the Blues have agreed a third deal with their Champions League semi-final conquerors, with a £20 million deal having been agreed for Brazilian left back Filipe Luis.
Many expected the Blues to move for Southampton star Luke Shaw with Ashley Cole having brought the curtain down on his glittering Chelsea career, but it appears as though Mourinho has opted for the 28-year-old Brazilian as an alternative.
Luis was part of a water-tight back four under Diego Simeone last season, and will fit in well into Chelsea’s style of play.
