Arsenal supporters had to wait until the very final week of the transfer window before any new additions were added last season, but reports today suggest this year will be a different story.
Metro revealed this weekend that the Gunners have agreed personal terms with Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy, ahead of a proposed £10 million transfer.
The French international spent last season on loan at Newcastle United, and fired 14 Premier League goals during a season that was disrupted by injury and suspension.
Arsenal spent last season with Olivier Giroud as the club’s main forward, with Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski injured for the majority of the campaign and Yaya Sanogo and Nicklas Bendtner short on both experience and quality.
A striker was considered a transfer priority this summer, and Arsenal fans will be delighted to see Wenger appears to have reacted quickly, whilst also looking to have beaten rivals Liverpool and Tottenham to Remy’s signature.
The close season is expected to be a busy time for Arsenal, with reports suggesting the club has as much as £150 million to spend on new playing talent having closed a new kit deal with Puma.
With that in mind, we have identified five players who could well be following Loic Remy to the Emirates shortly.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
