Manchester United supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are still recovering from yesterday’s shock last-gasp draw against Fulham.
Darren Bent struck in the 94th minute to ensure more misery for United and David Moyes at Old Trafford.
Moyes had already been handed some depressing news earlier in the week as captain and talisman Nemanja Vidic announced he will depart the Premier League champions in the summer.
The 32-year-old Serbian will leave Old Trafford after eight glorious years when his contract expires at the end of the season as seeks a ‘new challenge’.
Vidic, who only cost Sir Alex Ferguson £7million back in January 2006, has been one of the best defenders in the world for years and his presence at the club will be a great loss.
While injuries have recently affected his performances and impact on the team, United and Moyes now have a massive gap to fill in their defence with veteran centre-back Rio Ferdinand also expected to leave.
The former Everton manager now needs to spend the next few months looking for at least one suitable replacement for Vidic.
Here in the tavern we thought we’d give the under fire manager a helping hand by outlining the five players that Moyes could move for in the summer as he tries to replace his captain.
