5 realistic signings to bring the title home for Arsenal

Alexandre PatoIt proved to be a frustrating weekend in many ways for Arsenal fans.

The Football Transfer Tavern was packed for Everton’s visit to the Emirates Stadium on Super Sunday, with Gunners fans expectant their team would open up a seven point gap at the top of the table.

Results the previous day went very much in their favour, with Manchester City drawing at Southampton, and Chelsea going down to a surprise 3-2 defeat to Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium. And Manchester United lost, which is always nice.

The only close rival to enjoy a winning weekend was Liverpool, who comfortably dispatched West Ham United 4-1 at Anfield.

But with all eyes on Arsenal, it was Everton who came away with most of the plaudits, after a fantastic display at the Emirates which saw them come away from the home of the league leaders with a 1-1 draw.

Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal fans may consider it two points dropped, but considering the performance put in by Roberto Martinez’s side, there could be some who consider it a fortunate point gained.

So the gap at the top of the table now stands at five points, still a position any Arsenal fan would have bitten your hand off for at the start of the season.

And as we head towards Christmas, it is looking more and more likely that the business done in the January transfer window by all clubs challenging for the title will have a huge impact on where the title ends up.

With that in mind, we take a look at five realistic signings that could bring the title home for Arsenal.
