Chelsea continued their superb form by securing Champions League qualification in style last night, thrashing Schalke 5-0 in Germany.
In a game that was billed as Champions League winning manager Roberto Di Matteo seeking revenge on his former club, it was the Blues who stole the show by proving just how far they have come since that triumphant European campaign of 2012.
Jose Mourinho is back in the hotseat and has the Blues already clear favourites to land the Premier League title comfortably.
And last night’s performance in Germany will see Chelsea’s odds on a second Champions League triumph slashed as Mourinho’s men made it 19 matches unbeaten.
Mourinho said: “This happiness, this flair, this beauty. The way we are doing things, we are very happy.
“The team played a fantastic match. At this moment this team is very mature and very confident. To win 5-0 away in the Champions League is not normal.
“To win 5-0 in Germany is even more not normal. The performance was complete. It was very impressive. We have a good team. Obviously we can lose and the bad result is waiting for us. But the reality is the team is playing very well.”
With everything seemingly perfect for the Blues, it has been pretty straightforward to come up with five reasons why Chelsea can indeed go all the way and win their second European Cup this season.
