Here in the Football Transfer Tavern, one thing we know for sure is that Jose Mourinho normally gets what he wants.
The self dubbed Special One knows what he wants and goes out and gets it – well until he started to search for his striker transfer target number one during the window that slammed shut last Monday.
After a summer long chase for Wayne Rooney – which came to nothing – Mourinho was forced to look elsewhere and eventually decided to sign his former star man Samuel Eto’o from Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala.
Chelsea have enough money to afford pretty much anyone they want and certainly can pay claim to recent successes and more that that – Mourinho himself, meaning it would not have been hard for the Portuguese tactician to look elsewhere this summer.
Granted, if you would have asked Chelsea fans at the start of the summer who they would have liked to sign this transfer window, given the likes of Edinson Cavani and Radamel Falcao being up for grabs, to net Eto’o may not have been exactly what they had initially envisaged.
The Cameroon international is a proven goal scorer however and Blues supporters in the tavern have identified five reasons why they believe the striker will be a success at Stamford Bridge.
