Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are still not able to let the transfer window sink in.
Wholesale changes at Old Trafford were promised and Louis van Gaal has certainly delivered spending close to £150 million on new signings while allowing a host of players to leave the club.
Out have gone the likes of Tom Cleverley, Javier Hernandez, Danny Welbeck, Patrice Evra, Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic whilst Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera, Marcos Rojo, Angel Di Maria, Daley Blind and Radamel Falcao have all been announced as new signings.
But despite the excitement of so much world class talent arriving at Old Trafford, there is a feeling Louis van Gaal’s squad is still somewhat unbalanced.
There was no new centre backs or an out-and-out defensive midfielder to arrive during the summer transfer window and van Gaal would surely be the first to admit that his United squad is nowhere near complete.
Attack wise, the 20-time-English champions have one of the most exciting in Europe but that is not to say van Gaal won’t be looking to strengthen further when the January transfer window comes around.
