It’s always nice to have a Tottenham Hotspur related discussion in the Football Transfer Tavern that doesn’t involve Gareth Bale (seriously, what did we talk about before Bale?).
The Spurs punters in the tavern have been in a brilliant mood all summer and that is because Andre Villas-Boas and Daniel Levy have signed quickly, signed well and, most importantly, have signed to improve.
In amongst all the signings and the Bale saga, we almost forgot at the tavern that Spurs are in dire need of a striker, despite signing Roberto Soldado from Valencia.
With Jermain Defoe heavily linked with a move away and Emmanuel Adebayor not deemed up to the job, a few punters start shouting obscenities out about the former Arsenal man’s less than impressive season last term. Tottenham certainly need extra firepower.
I always keep myself out of the discussions, I view myself like a referee, I’m an unbiased landlord just here to do a job but it is always interesting (and amusing) to overhear what the punters are chatting about.
Give me five minutes to clear up that table just over there and I will let you know who the customers think Spurs should make a move for before the window slams shut.
