Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are in a celebratory mood ahead of the weekend, with the signing of Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona confirmed for a fee of £35 million.
Sanchez scored 47 goals in 141 appearances for Barcelona and netted two goals for Chile at the summer’s World Cup.
He said: “I’m so happy to be joining a club which has a great manager, a fantastic squad of players and huge support around the world.
“I’m looking forward to playing in the Premier League and Champions League.”
For a while it was starting to look like another of those summer’s for Arsene Wenger’s side, with plenty of players being linked, but no new signings confirmed.
The arrival of a world class talent such as Sanchez will take the pressure off a bit and Gunners supporters are hoping there are plenty more big names to come.
But regardless as to whether Wenger strengthens his frontline further between now and the end of the window, the arrival of Sanchez gives the Gunners plenty of extra options they lacked during the previous campaign.
Here we have taken a look at five striking combinations they could use next season, now the arrival of Sanchez has been confirmed.
