It has not been the sort of season that Chelsea fans expected after lifting the FA Cup and Champions League at the end of the 2011/12 season under Roberto Di Matteo.
With an interim boss that nobody seems to like and a real scrap on to finish in the top four of the Premier League, winning the Europa League could be a real boost for the club.
There is no doubt that Chelsea are now the favourites to win the tournament with one of Tottenham, Fenerbahce and Benfica their likely semi-final opponents if they can dispatch of Rubin Kazan in the quarters.
While talk of the next manager at Stamford Bridge hots up, it is surely time for the club and the fans to focus solely on the remaining games of the season and add another trophy to their growing trophy cabinet.
The Europa League has been a more serious competition this season and the English clubs especially have used it to their advantage, so why not go all out to win it having got this far?
