Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal may have only been in the Old Trafford hotseat for a little longer than a month but the Dutch coach will have already experienced several ups and downs that come with managing one of the biggest clubs in world football.
From pre-season wins over Real Madrid and Liverpool to a 4-0 thrashing at MK Dons, van Gaal has had a fast-paced introduction to life as Manchester United manager which has also seen him spend big money in a bid to get the club back on track.
With Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw already signed by the time the Dutchman arrived, Angel Di Maria has become the club’s record signing after completing a £59.6 million move from Real Madrid, whilst Argentine international team-mate defender Marcos Rojo has also completed a £16 million move from Sporting Lisbon.
And with van Gaal insistent there will be further new additions as he looks to shape his squad, United will certainly be one of the clubs to look out for this transfer deadline day.
