Another transfer window has come and gone, and Arsenal fans inside the Football Transfer Tavern have been left frustrated.
The Gunners were perhaps linked with more new signings than any other club, but Arsene Wenger bought in just one new player on deadline day – Swedish midfielder Kim Kallstrom on loan until the end of the season.
Arsenal fans have been left feeling pretty underwhelmed, especially when you take a look at the calibre of players the club were linked with throughout the month.
Wenger’s side can go back to the top of the table for 24 hours at least with a home win over Crystal Palace, but with the clubs injury list seeming to grow by the week, you wonder why January was such a quiet month.
Reports suggested the club were set to bring in a new striker to offer support for Olivier Giroud, with the Frenchman carrying the burden of being the Gunner’s main fit striker for the first half of the season.
Wenger was also reportedly targeting a new right back, possibly as a long term replacement for Bacary Sagna, who is out of contract in the summer.
And finally, a new centre back was also thought to be on Wenger’s wish-list, to provide further back up to Koscielny, Mertesacker and Thomas Vermaelen.
But despite all the speculation, Kallstrom was the only January arrival at the Emirates.
With another transfer window done and dusted, we take a look at 5 things we learnt from Arsenal on transfer deadline day.
