The Mourinho revolution is underway at Stamford Bridge, and the first major signing of his second coming is Bayer Leverkusen forward Andre Schurrle.
Chelsea have agreed a fee with the German side believed to be in the region of £20 million for the 22-year-old.
Already a German international, Schurrle is highly rated across Europe, and will surely bring another attacking dimension to the Blues’ play.
Chelsea have reportedly been chasing him for an entire year, and whilst negotiations last summer proved unsuccessful, £20 million was enough to get their man this time around, whilst also avoiding loaning out exciting Belgian midfielder Kevin de Bruyne in the process.
Mourinho will be hoping his first signing of his second spell will stick around for as long as Paulo Ferreira – the man he first bought to Chelsea at the start of his first spell in 2004.
If he does, then Schurrle will definitely have done something right.
