Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking away from their game of darts and have muscled in on the latest conversation. This is because our landlord has just brought Burak Yilmaz into the discussion.
The Turkish forward is of course a target of Jose Mourinho and Chelsea – and the club have effectively been given the green light to table a bid in January after Galatasaray chairman Unal Aysal invited them to make an initial offer.
Yilmaz would be Champions League tied – but as our landlord points out, Chelsea are desperate for a forward and simply have to get one this winter.
Fernando Torres and Demba Ba may have seemed fired up of late, but are still failing to score. In the interests of keeping our tequila in the bottle and not in a row of shot glasses, we are not even going to mention Samuel Eto’o and his form since arriving at Stamford Bridge.
The Premier League is what Chelsea are focusing on, and the forward could well be key to them winning it. One look at Manchester City and their forwards – and you can see that when in a tight spot, they have four world class options to dig them out of it.
Chelsea have zero. With that in mind, our landlord has turned our attentions to Yilmaz, and has a list of five things we may not have known about the forward.
