Here in the Football Transfer Tavern, there is no denying that our punters find international week quite boring to be frank.
We try and make it as interesting as we can, but gone are the days where punters were more interested in England than they are their clubs. Now it seems for fans and players alike, it is club firmly over country.
With that in mind, our landlord has been filling us in on some faces that we could well expect to come to the Premier League this summer. We have already had Chelsea fans rushing over to learn all about Galatasaray’s Burak Yilmaz, and they are staying close as we turn our attentions to Basel star Mohamed Salah.
The starlet is being targeted by Tottenham Hotspur, but as one punter quips, it is hardly like that has stopped Chelsea in the past! The young Egyptian star is already well known to fans of the Champions League after featuring in the shock victory for his side over Chelsea in the Blues’ opening Champions League fixture this season.
For all the Spurs fans who did not watch the Champions League – not really surprising given their team are yet again not in it – Salah was also rather impressive in the Europa League last season – something they will only be too well aware of, given he scored when Basel knocked AVB’s men out. The young player is an up and coming star – and one that Andre Villas-Boas wants.
With that in mind, we crowd around the bar as our landlord gives us a list of five facts we may not have known about the star.
