5 Tottenham starlets to follow Bentaleb into the first team reckoning

Shaquile Coulthirst Tottenham fans are feeling slightly confused in the Football Transfer Tavern.

Tim Sherwood has done a fantastic job in turning the club’s fortunes around this season, yet today further reports have emerged linking the club with a move for a new manager in the summer.

Chairman Daniel Levy is reported to have sounded out current Italy head coach Cesare Prandelli over the possibility of taking over at White Hart Lane when he steps down as national team boss after the summer’s World Cup.

Names such as Louis van Gaal and Frank de Boer have also been mentioned, despite the fact Sherwood has guided Tottenham to within three points of the top four after six Premier League wins in their last eight.

Reports hint that Sherwood faces losing his job as head coach if the club fails to make the top four, and with Liverpool ‘relentless’ in their pursuit of Champions League football – as Sherwood described them – then it could prove a very real possibility.

The majority of Tottenham fans would like to see Sherwood stay on beyond the end of the season, with the former Lilywhites midfielder making some inspired decisions to turn the clubs fortunes around.

The reintroduction of Emmanuel Adebayor has grabbed the most headlines, but the introduction of young midfielder Nabil Bentaleb has also been a master stroke.

Bentaleb is considered one of the most promising prospects on the club’s books, and his performances at first team level have been very impressive so far.

Here we take a look at 5 Tottenham starlets who could follow Bentaleb into the first team reckoning.
