It’s been a decent week for Tottenham supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern, who have seemingly bounced back well from their disappointing home defeat to West Bromwich Albion.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side responded with a 3-1 home victory over Nottingham Forest in the Capital One Cup last week before a creditable 1-1 draw away to Tottenham in Saturday’s North London derby.
In and amongst those performances, young Spurs midfielder Ryan Mason caught the eye.
The 23-year-old scored a crucial equaliser when Spurs were trailing to Forest in midweek, with a superb 25-yard-strike.
He was rewarded with a start at the Emirates Stadium and he certainly didn’t look out of his depth, putting himself about and battling for the cause.
For a player who made his first team debut six years ago – enduring a total of eight loan spells since – the fact Mason is now on the verge of establishing himself as a first team player at White Hart Lane is quite an achievement.
And Pochettino will surely be willing to give chances to more promising young players coming through the ranks at Spurs in the future.
Here, we have identified five young Tottenham stars who could be next to follow Ryan Mason into the first team squad.
