Manchester United fans find themselves in the unusual position of heading into the final stretch of the season with nothing but pride to play for.
The Old Trafford faithful are used to this time of year being the point in which they start dreaming of yet another Premier League title, with the Easter period not short of unforgettable Manchester United memories.
But this time around under David Moyes, it is a very different story.
It’s been a wretched first season at the helm for the Scot who was handpicked by Sir Alex Ferguson to carry on the Champions success.
Exit’s at the FA Cup third round, Capital One Cup semi-final, and Champions League quarter-finals means there will be no silverware in Moyes’ first year, whilst the less said about the defence of their Premier League title the better.
United are even set to miss out on Champions League football for the first time in 18 years, with Moyes needing his side to win their remaining five games of the season, and hope there are major slip ups from both Arsenal and Everton, who sit 10 and nine points clear respectively.
United fans could be forgiven for starting to look ahead to the summer and next season, and beginning to wonder who Moyes will bring in to strengthen with his reported ‘huge transfer warchest’.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
