Tottenham fans inside the Football Transfer Tavern are busy reviewing the month of October, with plenty in agreement that it has been something of a mixed bag.
A derby draw with Chelsea, a shocking derby defeat to West Ham United, and an impressive 2-0 win at Aston Villa have been the contrasting highlights for Tottenham, who go into the month’s final matches sitting in fifth place in the Premier League with 16 points from a possible 24.
Perhaps this is the most Andre Villas-Boas could have expected considering the summer saw him bring in almost an entire new team with funds that went over the £100 million mark.
With new players finding their feet and still beginning to gel, perhaps you could argue the start made by AVB and his side has been more impressive than expected.
And the news coming out of White Hart Lane is that the spending is set to continue in January.
Villas-Boas has used his Gareth Bale fund to plot for the future, and reckons a couple more top additions will have Spurs challenging for the title in the near future.
If the general feeling is that they are not quite there yet, we have identified 5 transfer priorities in January for Tottenham to take them to that next level.
