Tony Pulis is back in the Premier League, and he could not have chosen a much harder job with which to make his comeback.
The former Stoke City boss holds a record of never being relegated in a career that spans over all four divisions of English football, but this without a doubt will be his toughest test.
History is not on his side, as Palace have reached the top flight on four separate occasions, and each time been relegated at their first attempt at survival.
Pulis will be hoping he can inspire a side joint bottom of the Premier League to make it fifth time lucky, but without a doubt he will need to make some signings.
The Welshman was shrewd in the transfer market during his time at Stoke, and their style of play often distracted from the fact Pulis had worked wonders to turn them into an established Premier League side.
The Palace board will no doubt hope he can produce something similar at Selhurst Park, but to do so he must start by getting his signings right in January.
Here we have identified five potential signings that would help Palace survive the dreaded drop.
