The Gunners have failed to splash any of Wenger’s reported £70million transfer war chest, and have seemingly put all their eggs in a Luis Suarez shaped basket.
Whilst that transfer saga remains ongoing – with Liverpool as adamant as ever they will not be selling to their Premier League rivals – the club have failed to show any ability to multitask, and have missed out on top target Gonzalo Higuain, and seemingly Brazilian playmaker Bernard.
With time against them, Wenger is going to simply have to hurry things along.
The Gunners are still in need of a top striker, as well as midfield reinforcements and defensive cover.
Whilst all those areas are important to strengthen, it is important Wenger doesn’t panic buy in order to make up for lost time.
Arsenal supporters have been patient up until now, but failure to bring in the right players ahead of the new season may see Wenger under fire once more.
