Reports suggest Brendan Rodgers is set to be a busy man once more when the transfer window re-opens in January.
The Liverpool boss was one of the summers’ more active managers, bringing in eight new faces in total.
And it seems to have worked well so far for the Reds, who sit second in the Premier League table after winning four of their opening six games.
Whilst the likes of Iago Aspas, Luis Alberto and Mamadou Sakho perhaps need more time to settle, goalkeeper Simon Mignolet and centre back Kolo Toure have won over the Anfield faithful almost instantly.
Rodgers will be aware he needs to launch a genuine assault on the top four this season, and still has money to spend in January according to reports.
The Reds were said to have funds available for a ‘marquee’ summer signing, although Rodgers missed out on the likes of Henrikh Mkhitarayan, Willian and Diego Costa.
That means January may be the time to spend once again, and the Liverpool boss will remember how two January recruits saved their season last time around.
Both Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho proved fine pieces of business last January, and Rodgers will know another couple of signings of similar quality and value could see Liverpool make a serious top four claim.
Here we have identified five transfer targets that would help boost the Reds top four challenge.
