Luis Suarez is hardly the most popular figure amongst supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern, having almost single handedly knocked England out of the World Cup just three days ago.
And even Liverpool fans might be starting to turn on their talismanic front man, with yet more stories this morning linking the Uruguayan with a move away from Anfield.
The 27-year-old is said to be at the centre of a £100million transfer battle between Real Madrid and Barcelona, according to the Daily Mail.
Liverpool fans are starting to dread a repeat of last summer’s shenanigans involving Suarez, where he continually pushed for a move away from Anfield only for manager Brendan Rodgers to insist he stay.
He went on to fire 31 goals for the Reds last season and inspire a push for the Premier League title, and that alongside his dismantling of England in Sao Paulo on Tuesday has got the two Spanish giants chasing his signature.
Suarez only signed a contract extension at Anfield last December, and has insisted on many occasions he remains happy at Liverpool.
However there have been mentions of a £68million buy-out-clause having been inserted, news that has got Reds fans worried.
With Suarez also having previously admitted he would find it hard to turn down a move to one of the big two Spanish clubs, it could well be a case of Liverpool fighting to keep their star man once again this summer.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
