The Manchester United fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are desperately waiting on the first pictures of Romelu Lukaku in a Red Devils shirt, however, while they are all waiting on the big reveal there is other business to tend to at the club.
While manager Jose Mourinho may already have Victor Lindelof secured and the Lukaku deal seemingly just waiting on the finishing touches of a Twitter campaign, there is still plenty to be done.
With that in mind, it seems Italian giants Inter Milan are doing all they can to stop Manchester United target Ivan Perisic from leaving, after new manager Luciano Spalletti told Sky Sports he’ll be sitting down with the player and listening to his concerns.
“I will listen to him (Perisic). I’m counting on him but we’ll have to understand his intentions,” said Spalletti.
“It would not be nice for me to hear him say words like ‘I want to leave’. We’ll see.
“You keep talking about Perisic and his desire to leave but I need to listen to his own words first and then decide how to act.”
The former Wolfsburg man has been a target of Mourinho’s all summer and, despite Spalletti’s desire to keep him at San Siro, the Europa League champions reportedly remain confident of landing a deal for the 28-year-old for a fee of up to £50m.
