£55m bid expected as Chelsea get ready to back Conte with major personnel changes

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to get slightly concerned at their side’s lack of transfer business so far this summer…

Whilst sides including Man Utd and Man City have invested pretty heavily so far this summer, Chelsea have remained comparably quiet – with no players joining the club as of yet.

That could be about to change, though, with the Guardian reporting that Chelsea are looking to back manager Antonio Conte in the transfer market this summer. It is noted that the club are stepping up efforts to sign both Alex Sandro and Tiemoue Bakayoko, with the Blues keen to improve their side this summer.

Of course, this is very important for Chelsea, as at present, they risk falling behind in the Premier League. Top players like Victor Lindelof, Ederson and Bernardo Silva have already moved to the Premier League, and Chelsea must look to upgrade too.

Alex Sandro is arguably one of Europe’s best left-backs, and whilst Marcos Alonso did well last year, he would undoubtedly be an improvement on the Spaniard. A lot has been made about Tiemoue Bakayoko this summer, and with good reason, with our landlord touting his ruthless energy, technical skill and commitment as the perfect combination of traits alongside N’Golo Kante.

The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to feel quite excited…
