The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are expecting Jurgen Klopp to make some big calls against Man Utd this weekend. The fixture, which has a storied history, could prove to be hugely significant in the context of the season.
Both teams vying for a 2nd place finish, and whoever wins this game will certainly have the upper hand heading into the climax of the 2017/18 Premier League season.
Jurgen Klopp, then, needs to do everything right, and that extends through to his team selection.
One player that faces an uncertain fate today is Jordan Henderson. The Englishman’s form has always been a big topic of debate in the Transfer Tavern, and with the rise of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, he is no longer the guaranteed starter that he once was.
Indeed, this is a topic that is seemingly dividing fans. Our landlord recently asked Liverpool supporters one simple question – should Henderson get dropped this weekend?
Fans responded and, in truth, they seem pretty split on the matter – with 57% voting yes, and 43% voting no.
Though not the most popular player at Anfield, Henderson – who has 36 caps for England – has looked pretty good over the last few weeks. He particularly impressed against Porto, and he deserves a lot of credit for that. Indeed, if this poll ran a few weeks ago, the results likely would have been very different.
Nonetheless, 57% of fans appear unconvinced by him still, particularly in a game of this magnitude, and so whatever happens, a section of fans are going to be left disappointed in some way.
Of course, the final decision will rest with Jurgen Klopp – and this may end up being his most important decision of the day.
