Chelsea’s official website confirmed moments ago that the club have agreed a deal to sign 23-year-old Werder Bremen winger Marko Marin this summer. The statement from the club read:
“Chelsea Football Club have today (Saturday) agreed to sign Marko Marin from Werder Bremen. Both clubs have agreed a fee and the 23-year-old midfielder has agreed personal terms. Marin, a German international, will join Chelsea in the summer”.
The 23-year-old German international is a highly rated left winger or attacking central midfielder who has been linked with Liverpool and a number of Italian clubs in the past.
The Guardian claim Chelsea will pay £6.5m for the wingers services and they also claim Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku may move on loan the Bremen next season as part of the deal although this is unconfirmed.
Marin is an out and out winger who can play on the left or right wing and can be used in the Juan Mata position off a striker if needed. His pace and trickery will bring a new attacking edge to Chelsea’s front line and hopefully goals, assists and trophies also.
