The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern can’t see a way for Pep Guardiola to improve their side’s team this summer. The Citizens have been nothing short of exceptional this season, and that’s a testament to the squad that the Spaniard has built.
Indeed, from defence to attack, the Man City first team is as close perfect as it gets.
However, that doesn’t mean that Pep Guardiola isn’t looking to improve it. To the contrary, according to the Sun, Man City are keen to sign Isco this summer – with a £75 million move apparently being planned.
It would certainly be a surprise to see him swap Madrid for Manchester this summer, but if the Citizens are able to pull off the move, our landlord is backing it to be even more important than the deal that brought Kevin De Bruyne to the Etihad.
After all, Isco is every bit as good as De Bruyne. A technical genius, the Spaniard has been a star for Real Madrid over the last few years whilst playing in difficult conditions. Not always a regular starter, he has looked good whenever he has played.
A brilliant passer of the ball, he’s able to produce magic out of nothing, whilst he’s also got more than a few tricks up his sleeves as he looks to break and move past defenders.
He’s certainly the sort of player that would flourish under Pep Guardiola, given his incredible technical style, and he’d likely go from strength to strength under the Man City boss.
Not to mention, at just 25-years-old, he’s a player that is only going to get better over the next few years.
Isco won’t be cheap by any means, with Transfer Markt valuing him at £67.5 million, but he’d be worth every penny. Even if Man City have to pay more than the £75 million that they are apparently ready to spend, he’d still be a worthy signing.
