67% of Liverpool fans want Klopp to pick £22.5m-rated midfielder against Everton

For the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern, it doesn’t get much bigger than the Merseyside derby. Even though they’re in the midst of what could go down as a historic Champions League campaign, games against their local rivals are always of the utmost importance.

Discussion in the Transfer Tavern, then, has quickly turned from Europe back to the Premier League, with many expecting a win against the Toffees this weekend.

That said, though, Jurgen Klopp has a lot on his plate at the moment, and so he needs to strike a balance between preparing for the Champions League whilst also picking a strong side for the derby.

Naturally, then, our resident Reds have been locked in debate over who should start the game, and one player that has constantly been brought up in conversation is Jordan Henderson, who is rated at £22.5 million by Transfer Markt.

We recently ran a poll on the prospect of the Englishman starting against Everton, and though he’s usually a divisive figure, it appears as though Liverpool fans are keen for him to start the game. The results, which can be seen below, have revealed that a whopping 67% of Liverpool fans want to see Henderson start the fixture.

It must be said that Henderson was at his best against Man City earlier this week, and so fans were clearly impressed by his showing enough to call for Klopp to get him involved again.

Liverpool also have to deal with the fact that he is suspended for their side’s game against Man City next week, and given their already thin lack of central midfield options, it makes sense for him to start this weekend. Not to mention, his leadership will also be key in a game of this magnitude.

What do you think Liverpool fans? Should Henderson start?
